Vascular Disease: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approaches, written by SVM Past President Michael R. Jaff and Christopher J. White, bridges vascular and endovascular medicine to provide practicing physicians of multiple backgrounds – as well as trainees, students, and anyone involved in the treatment of vascular diseases – an essential overview of the diagnostic approaches and state-of-the-art treatments of arterial and venous diseases.
Jaff and White have joined with leading experts to produce a book that comprehensively and uniquely addresses vascular disease. The editors’ clinical approach, combined with the work of contributors nationally renowned in their respective fields, make this work useful and practical to both clinicians and interventionalists alike.

Henna Kalsi, MD, Named New Chair of SVM Web Site Committee
Dr. Henna Kalsi, an instructor at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, has accepted the position of chair of the SVM Web Site Committee. Kalsi now heads the committee that manages the operation of the SVM Web site. One of her most important duties is managing the Interactive Case Study of the Month, one of the most popular features of the SVM Web site. The Case Study of the Month was introduced in October 2007. Dr. Kalsi took over the reins of the committee in June shortly after the SVM Annual Scientific Sessions.
Dr. Kalsi completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and fellowships in vascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic. Her clinical interests include venous disease, wound care, and vascular ultrasound.
The Society for Vascular Medicine thanks Dr. David Slovut for his leadership of the SVM Web Site Committee from 2007 through June 2011. David’s diligence and vision led to great improvements in the SVM Web site in terms of appearance and content. Through his introduction of the Case Study of the Month, David has created a valuable resource for SVM members and anyone interested in vascular medicine.

Each month, SVM members are encouraged to read and rate the Interactive Case Study of the Month. The three cases with the highest ratings for the first year of this program were announced at the SVM Annual Meeting in Boston in June.
