Mentorship Program

The Society for Vascular Medicine Mentorship Program was launched in January 2020, with the goal of supporting the professional development of our early-career SVM members. Over 50 SVM members participated in the inaugural mentor/mentee class. Future mentors and mentees will receive their match in January.
What is the commitment?
The amount of time involved and level of commitment are flexible for both the mentor and the mentee, ranging from email, text, FaceTime/Skype, and phone communication to in-person meetings. The goal is for the pair to work together over one year. The hope is that the mentor and mentee will connect in person at the SVM Scientific Sessions.
Why become a mentor?
Mentorship has obvious benefits for both the mentor and the mentee, in terms of the connections, collaborations, networking, knowledge, and personal growth that mentorship can provide. It can help you to clarify and fulfill your own vision, to advance a research project, to achieve your career goals, to hone your leadership skills, and to motivate and inspire you and others. As a mentor, you can personally help to shape the vascular medicine leaders of tomorrow.
